Peace is the eternal aspiration of the Chinese people and the distinctive characteristic of China’s development. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the country has stuck to the path of peaceful development. While achieving its own development, China has made great contributions to world peace and development. 

和平是中國人民的永恒期望，是中國發展的鮮明特徵。新中國成立以來，中國堅定不移走和平發展道路，在實現自我發展的同時，為世界和平與發展作出了重要貢獻。

In September 2020, the State Council Information Office issued the white paper “China’s Armed Forces: 30 Years of UN Peacekeeping Operations”. It reviewed the history, practice and contribution of China’s armed forces in participating in UN peacekeeping operations over the past three decades and highlighted China as a key force to safeguard world peace and build a community with a shared future for humanity. 

2020年9月，國務院新聞辦公室發佈了《中國軍隊參加聯合國維和行動30年》白皮書，全面回顧中國軍隊參加聯合國維和行動30年來的歷程、實踐和貢獻，深入闡明中國軍隊為世界和平出征，是服務構建人類命運共同體的堅定力量：

Over the past 30 years, China’s armed forces have contributed more than 40,000 service members to 25 UN peacekeeping missions. Sixteen Chinese military peacekeepers have sacrificed their lives for the noble cause of peace.

30年來，中國軍隊先後參加25項聯合國維和行動，累計派出維和官兵4萬餘人次，16名中國官兵為了和平事業獻出了寶貴生命。

As of August 2020, 2,521 Chinese military peacekeepers were serving on eight UN peacekeeping missions and at UNHQ.

2020年8月，2521名中國官兵正在8個維和特派團和聯合國總部執行任務。

Chinese military peacekeepers have left their footprints in over 20 countries and regions.

中國維和官兵的足跡遍佈20多個國家和地區。

As of August 2020, these battalions had completed 51 long-range and 93 short-distance patrols, 314 armed escorts, and over 30,000 hours of patrols in weapons-free zones.

截至2020年8月，維和步兵營累計完成長途巡邏51次、短途巡邏93次，武裝護衛任務314次，武器禁區巡邏3萬餘小時。

From 2016 to 2019, the fund financed 52 peace and security projects to a total value of USD33.62 million.

2016年至2019年，中國－聯合國和平與發展基金在和平安全領域共開展52個項目，使用資金約3362萬美元。

Twenty-three of these projects were in support of the UNPKOs which cost USD10.38 million.

其中23個項目涉及支援聯合國維和行動使用資金約1038萬美元。

China’s armed forces have cooperated on peacekeeping with over 90 countries and 10 international and regional organizations.

中國軍隊先後與90多個國家、10多個國際和地區組織開展維和交流與合作。

China will continue to participate in building world peace. We are committed to peaceful development. No matter how the international landscape may evolve and how strong it may become, China will never pursue hegemony, expansion or sphere of influence.

中國將始終做世界和平的建設者，堅定走和平發展道路，無論國際形勢如何變化，無論自身如何發展，中國永不稱霸、永不擴張、永不謀求勢力範圍。
