中國道路是中國共産黨把馬克思主義基本原理同中國實際和時代特徵結合起來走出的新路。中國特色社會主義道路是中國道路在當代的集中體現。

中國特色社會主義道路，從制度前提上看，以人民代表大會為根本政治制度，實行多黨合作和政治協商等基本政治制度；以公有制為主體，多种經濟成分並存和共同發展。從指導思想上看，中國的社會主義市場經濟高度重視宏觀調控，強調發揮計劃與市場兩個手段的長處。從政府在經濟活動中的作用來看，它不僅擁有一個“大政府”，而且擁有一個“好政府”。
