國務院新聞辦公室發表《中國的北極政策》白皮書，提出"中國願依託北極航道的開發利用，與各方共建'冰上絲綢之路'”。白皮書指出，中國將鼓勵企業參與北極航道基礎設施建設，依法開展商業試航，穩步推進北極航道的商業化利用和常態化運作。中國重視北極航道的航行安全，積極開展北極航道研究，不斷加強航運水文調查，提高北極航行、安全和後勤保障能力。中國主張和平利用北極，致力於維護和促進北極的和平與穩定。

In today’s program, we will talk about”Polar Silk Road”.

China's Belt and Road Initiative will bring opportunities for parties concerned to jointly build a "Polar Silk Road", and facilitate connectivity and sustainable economic and social development of the Arctic, said a whitepaper.

The document titled "China's Arctic Policy" issued by the State Council Information Office underscored that China hopes to work with all parties to build the Polar Silk Road through developing Arctic shipping routes, said the white paper.

According to the whitepaper, China will encourage enterprises to participate in the infrastructure construction of the Arctic shipping routes, conduct commercial trial voyages in accordance with the law, and steadily promote the commercialization and normalization of the Arctic shipping routes.

China attaches great importance to the navigation security of the Arctic shipping routes, actively conducts research on the Arctic shipping routes, continuously strengthens shipping hydrographic survey, and improve navigation, security and logistical capacities in the Arctic. 

China advocates the peaceful use of the Arctic pole and is committed to maintaining and promoting peace and stability of this area.
