Furong Village is located in Yantou Town, Yongjia County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. During the reign of Song Taiping (976-983), the ancestor Chen Gong moved to settle in Ryan Bridge and gradually formed a village of blood, dating back more than 1,000 years. Because there are three cliffs in the southwest of the village, red and white, like hibiscus, and hibiscus as the name of the village. There are more than 30 ancient dwellings of Ming and Qing Dynasties ,5 mansion sites of Ming Dynasty and 18 large and small ancestral halls preserved in it. The villagers of Furong Village only surnamed Chen.At present, Furong Village still retains the settlement planning features more than 600 years ago. The village is slightly square and sits west to the east. Surrounded by a pebble wall, it is more than 2,000 meters long and 2 meters high. The entire village is like a small castle.

Hibiscus Three Cliffs is in the Southwest of Furong Village. Every morning when the sun goes out of the mountain, the rays of sunlight shine on the Furong peak. Its color is whitish red,so not only is it like hibiscus in the shape, but also in color. There is a large pool in the village named “Furongchi”. Because the Furong Peak is reflected in the pool every day, the village is named “Furong Village”.

The East gate of Furong Village is the main entrance of the village.According to the setting of the door, the village is enclosed. When the door is closed , there is no morechannelsto come out in this direction. Of course, this village has several other doors. In the history of the need for defense, Furong Village has a total of seven village doors. The east gate is the main entrance,which was built in the the Year of A.D. 1341,Yuan Dynasty. Resting on the peak, it is a two-storey loft-style building, up for towers, down for the door.Because the gate is closed, it can be expected to have a strong defensive functionduring the past years.

Furong Village has a layout of "Seven xing(stars) eight dou" . Xing, refers to the square platform in the road intersection; Dou, is the square pool in the intersection of the water channel. "star built platform ", "Bucket chisel pool" are as symbols of the village. The seven stars arelocated like the Ji and Zhen in ancient Chinese Twenty-eight mansions, and thedistribution of eight Dou is shaped like the eight diagrams of Zhouyi. The road and the water system cross vertically and horizontally, whic make it a complete system. In addition, "seven xing eight dou" also has a good implication: the descendants of Furong village will be talented, like the glaring stars in the sky. (Promotion)
