Angsang Lake is located on Angsang Lake from north of Lintou village to Pingfeng bay of Qilijiang village, Lingzhi town, north of Shaoxing. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and was a channel for communication between the two sides of the north and the south to take shelter from storm. It is south from Lintou village Qixian town, north to the Qilijiang village, which is an north-south across the Angsang Lake, with a total length of 3.5 kilometers. The lake is slightly rectangular, the North and South are about 1 kilometer, the East and the West are about 2 kilometers, and the surface area is 2.4 square kilometers. It is the largest natural freshwater lake in the Shaoxing plain.
For the safety of navigation, 3.5-kilometer-long bluestone pond was built on the West of the lake, which was built in the Ming Dynasty for fifteen years (1642), known as "wonders on the water". Once a stone craftsman drowned inadvertently, and rescued by the villagers. He became a monk, and vowed to build a stone pond on the lake to take shelter from the storm, in order to repay the people's saving grace. But it's not easy to raise money. There was a rich businessman nearby, moved by the wish of the monk, and invested with the surrounding people for 5 years, and finally built a stone pond. After the stone pond was completed, when facing the storm, there is a great tide on a side, and a calm sea on the other side. From then on, the boat running in the pond and can be protected from the storm. The lake area of farmland, also reduce wind erosion.
Now the southeast side of the Angsang Lake is also a lake, which was reclaimed in 1969. At that time, all of the young labor force of Qixian attended. There was no machinery at that time, and everyone worked for a whole year. The total area of the Angsang Lake is about more than 5000 mu, and the area of the reclamation is about 2000 mu. The most of the land is still near the village of grain, part of which used as the farm, part of which used as the development of highway construction. Before the completion of the Qixian Waterworks, villagers made wine at home, and they came to north of the Angsang Lake for water. "Because the lake is the deepest and the water is the best". Then the waterworks was built here for this reason.
