Recently, Zhao Yide, member of Zhejiang provincial party committee,secretary of municipal party committee, met with Akuliru, the minister of state for foreign affairs of Ethiopia. The leaders of Hangzhou, Xu Ming and Chen Xinhua, attended the meeting.

Zhao Yide said that Hangzhou and Ethiopia have a long history of friendship. The two sides have frequent exchanges and fruitful cooperation. Hangzhou is a famous historical and cultural city, an innovative city and an ecological civilization. It is speeding up the internationalization of cities. We hope that the two countries will implement the same understanding between the leaders of the two countries, and take this time as the new starting point for the BBS, the economic and trade cultural cooperation between Ethiopia and Hangzhou, China. In the construction of "the Belt And Road", we will deepen pragmatic cooperation in trade, culture and other fields to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Akuliru said he was impressed by Hangzhou's beautiful city environment, its long history and culture and the hospitality of its people. In the context of friendly relations between China and Ethiopia, they welcome Hangzhou enterprises to go to Ethiopia and bring bilateral economic and trade cooperation to a new high.
