藥王山景區位於浙江省衢州市城南28公里處，是國家級森林公園、省級風景名勝區——紫微山國家森林公園的主景區之一。景區內蘊含著豐富的旅遊資源，其品位之高、資源之豐富、遊覽面積之大在江南獨樹一幟，是得天獨厚的集山水觀光與休閒度假于一體的風景旅遊勝地。

　　藥王山景區面積為15平方公里，分神農溝、馬尾瀑、石林薈萃三大景區，各景點分佈交錯有序，千峰競秀、竹木蔥蘢、鳥語花香，充分體現出雄、奇、險、靈、秀、美、幽的天然特色。藥王山景區內自然生態系統保護極佳，植被覆蓋率達95％以上，稱得上是“浙西綠肺”、“天然氧吧”。

　　獨特的地理位置和氣候條件孕育了豐富的動植物資源。這裡是浙西最大的動植物資源庫之一，生長著各種植物約千余種，其中珍稀植物有木蓮、紅豆杉、白豆杉等；各種名貴藥材500余種，七葉一枝花、九死還魂草、黃連、半夏、丹參、金銀花等應有盡有，唾手可得；森林裏還棲息著金錢豹、猴面鷹、相思鳥、穿山甲等100多種珍禽異獸，其中國家一、二級保護動物有12種。
