10 out of all 11 students who sat the exam this year scored higher than the global average, with two of them obtaining 44 points – a feat only achieved by 0.62% of all candidates last year.

“Our students have achieved extraordinary results despite the challenges caused by COVID-19 and the uncertainties they have experienced,” said Jessie Xiao, the Chinese Co-Principal of YCIS Chongqing.

YCIS Chongqing has not stopped preparing its students for the IBDP diploma even though they have all been impacted by the pandemic. During that challenging period last year, the school strictly followed the guidelines on COVID-19 to ensure a safe campus, and launched online classes for students who were unable to return to campus, according to Xiao.

Students had honed their skills for the exam with the continually updated curriculum and teaching and assessment practices. They were also encouraged and meticulously guided by the teaching staff to achieve their full potential, added Xiao.

Over the past three years, YCIS Chongqing has maintained a 100% pass rate in IB examinations, with average scores well above the world average.(YCIS Chongqing
