Chongqing's Bonded Zone Paves the Way for Cross-border B2B Export

Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone, situated in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, recently achieved a milestone by facilitating its first"Cross-border B2B Export" declaration within the region. The designated cargo is set to embark on a journey from Chongqing's Guoyuan port to Indonesia via a combination of sea and river transport.

"Cross-border B2B Export," or"Cross-border E-commerce Business-to-Business Export," encompasses two primary modes.

The first mode involves the direct export of goods from cross-border e-commerce B2B businesses to overseas enterprises, while the second mode entails exporting goods from overseas warehouses of cross-border e-commerce to foreign companies.

This development has ushered in new opportunities for foreign trade companies, simplifying customs procedures, reducing clearance costs, and enhancing cargo clearance efficiency. 

A spokesperson for Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone emphasized,"We have witnessed a growing number of Chongqing-based enterprises embracing cross-border e-commerce, demonstrating remarkable industrial vitality and a strong desire to expand internationally."

One exemplary enterprise is Chongqing Zongshen Power Machinery Co., Ltd., the first listed private company in Chongqing's motorcycle sector. This company specializes in producing parts for automobile and motorcycle engines, general power equipment, and diesel engines and has a global presence in the US, the UK, and Japan. 

Seizing the opportunity presented by"Cross-border B2B Export", they established Chongqing Zongshen Weirui Import and Export Trade Co., Ltd. within Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone, paving the way for exploring new markets.

With the assistance of the comprehensive bonded zone, Zongshen Weirui entrusted the cargo declaration to a forwarder, and the national unified customs clearance model was employed for customs clearance at Chongqing Port Customs.

Strategically located at the crossroads of the"Belt and Road" initiative, the Yangtze River Golden Waterway, and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone holds a pivotal role as a core carrier area for the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity, a free trade pilot zone, bonded area, and trade function area. Its Guoyuan port seamlessly connects to over 300 ports in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide.

In recent years, the bonded zone has improved its business environment, focusing on serving enterprises. This effort includes streamlining cross-border e-commerce export platform operations, product selection, cross-borer logistics, customs services, and supply chain finance, leading to a substantial reduction in enterprise customs clearance costs.

Lianglu Guoyuan Port Bonded Zone will further encourage the expansion of cross-border e-commerce for Chongqing and Sichuan companies. This will facilitate efficient and cost-effective international distribution via water transport to global markets.
