“Oil pressure, temperature, wind pressure, everything is normal!"On October 26th at 16:00,as the operator pressed the start button, the first batch of six diesel locomotives manufactured by Ziyang successfully started testing at the Kuantan Rail Laying Base in Malaysia, making full preparations for the transportation of track materials for the rail laying construction of the Malaysia East Railway project.
It is reported that the Malaysia East Railway Project is an important infrastructure project in the planning of Malaysia's East Coast Economic Zone, with a total length of 665km,and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.It is regarded as a"road bridge"connecting Malaysia's east and west coasts. It is the flagship project of China Malaysia joint construction of the"the Belt and Road",which is undertaken by China Communications Construction Corporation(hereinafter referred to as"CCCC").
The six locomotives launched this time are the first diesel locomotive project jointly operated by two Chinese enterprises,CRRC and CCCC,in Malaysia.
As a key equipment for track laying construction,CRRC Ziyang Company conducted anti-corrosion and moisture-proof design for these six diesel locomotives in response to the local environment in Malaysia, optimized the structure of key components such as locomotive diesel engines, improved the quality of locomotive pipe laying and wiring, and oil and water pipelines, ensuring the reliable quality and safe operation of the locomotives.
The locomotive adopts AC-DC electric transmission,suitable for 1435mm standard gauge,with a total length of 22 meters,a curb weight of 150 tons,and a maximum operating speed of 100 kilometers/hour.
As of now,the products provided by China to Malaysia cover internal-combustion mainline locomotives,internal-combustion shunting locomotives, and internal-combustion multiple units.(Xiao Zhengjun and Liu Xiuzhen)
