Chengdu Metro celebrates 100-day countdown to 2022 FISU Games

The countdown for the games has begun on March 18,with 100 days left for the commencement of Chengdu FISU Games.The occasion was marked with a planned activity along the theme of Serve the Games,”.The event was held at the subway station adjacent to the key venues of the FISU Games and meant to promote the idea“Sustainable,Smart,Vibrant and Sharing".The idea was to generate a buzz ahead of the games and convey the message of"Love Chengdu,Embrace the Games"to residents.

Three Chengdu Metro volunteer teams for the games make their debut

At the event,dressed in distinct uniforms,three volunteer teams impressed the audience with their professional skills and passion.

To ensure the success of Chengdu 2021 FISU Games,Chengdu Metro has organized three volunteer teams,namely"Party Member Vanguard","Service Etiquette Team"and"Youth Volunteer Team".The volunteers will focus on serving the Games in the volunteer spirit of"Dedication,Friendship,Mutual Assistance and Progress".

Chengdu Metro has more than 2,400 registered volunteers,who actively undertake social responsibility by organizing and participating in public welfare volunteer activities in many areas such as epidemic prevention and control,FISU Games service guarantee,metro operation and TOD comprehensive development.

High-quality metro services for the construction of"World Famous City of Sports Events"

Chengdu is striving to build a world class city for sports events and a higher-level public service system for citizen fitness.With just 100 days to go for the FISU Games,Chengdu Metro is determined to improve service quality point by by point to enhance the experience of metro-tide and city image.

Chengdu Metro has continued to provide diversified services with high quality.Chengdu Metro upgraded the passenger service desks of 82 stations in its entire line network,and improved passenger experience by optimizing its design and adapting the latest technology in software and hardware.The upgraded passenger service desk can provide bilingual guidance and answer queries on train timings and locations,among others,making the service more user-friendly.The metro is also working to improve its cleaners,securities and security inspection staffs.The uniforms of cleaners,securities and security inspection staffs in 22 key stations of the whole line network will be uniformly replaced with new summer uniforms to boost the overall image.Bilingual training will be given to window service personnel such as station service,crew and customer service information staff to improve their foreign language skills and prepare them for the upcoming large-scale international events.Low-carbon travel is also being advocated.There are plans to carry out promotional activities of"FISU Games Transportation"and"Green Travel"in combination with the Civilized Ride Day and advocate the merits of a low-carbon lifestyle.The games would lay a strong thrust on sustainability.

Chengdu Metro has adopted high standards to enhance its visual appeal.It has focused on the requirements of urban environmental quality improvement and has successively completed 16 environmental quality improvement projects,including boosting greenery,external wall beautification and guide sign update.This will ensure a visually stimulating experience for passengers.Firstly,the guide signs of the network were updated.The guide signs of 146 stations in the whole line network were updated and transformed according to the highest specifications and technical standards.Information has been represented in a way that is easy to understand and pleasing to look at.All signs have a unified appearance.Secondly,stations have been given a‘green makeover’.In 88 metro stations,the exterior was renovated while 42 station entrances and exits and the main line of Chengdu line 2 underwent massive greening.In stations,toilets were also renovated,floor tiles replaced,blind roads rectified and external walls cleaned,etc.,so as to make the environmental facilities of stations cleaner and standardized.

Another idea is to improve"efficiency"and match the level of the games in an all-round way.To meet the passenger transport demand during the games,Chengdu Metro has boosted connectivity of the line network through measures such as station capacity expansion and transformation and additional purchase of trains.This is meant to provide high-quality transportation support for Chengdu to build a world-class international city of sports events and improve the carrying capacity during major events.Safety prevention and control measures will be strictly implemented.The station security force will be optimized while the link between police and enterprises will be strengthened to ensure safe operation level of the line network.Chengdu Metro will also focus on epidemic prevention and control,coordinate the epidemic prevention work in public areas such as stations and trains,and strictly implement the"four 100%"measures of code scanning,body temperature detection,mask wearing,disinfection and ventilation of tools.Plans are afoot to improve the transportation capacity of the network.In order to ensure sufficient transportation capacity of the line network,28 additional main line trains have been purchased,all of which have arrived at the section and completed commissioning.To boost the station capacity,42 stations serving 49 venues of the games and 18 outer suburb end stations outside the Ring Expressway were expanded while five key stations,including Lianshanpo,Jiepai,Ming Shu King's mausoleum,Chengdu University and Shuangliu Square,were completed.Other measures taken for a seamless consumer experience include up-to-date customer service equipment and facilities in key stations around the event venues,transformation of gates and ticket booths,increase in security checkpoints.
