Up to now, the 92 community sports culture parks built on the edges of the built-up areas of the downtown area have been completed and opened to the public. Recently, a reporter visited Shizishan Community Sports Culture Park to experience the convenience brought by the“transformed”“corners and wastelands” to the public.

Li Qinghua who lives in the neighborhood, and his wife took their granddaughter to Danzishi Community Sports Culture Park early in the morning.“It is rare that the weather is so good, so we take the baby out.” Li Qinghua told the reporter that since the construction of Community Sports Culture Park, as long as the weather permits, he and his wife will come to walk and exercise; and when the weather is good, they will take their granddaughter out together.“There are children’s playgrounds. Our granddaughter can play with other children, and we can play table tennis nearby,” Li Qinghua said.

Many other residents who had no leisure and exercise places or a wasteland around the community felt the changes brought to their lives by the Community Sports Culture Park.“Now it has become a habit for me to go out to the Community Sports Culture Park for taking exercise.” Zeng Fanying, a resident who lives near Dashuijing Community Sports Culture Park grinned from ear to ear when speaking of such changes. The former barren slopes have now become places for leisure and exercise.

“The construction of community sports culture parks by using corner areas is mainly the redevelopment and utilization of inefficient sites, such as some barren slopes,” said Xiang Zelong, Deputy Director of Chongqing Natural Resources Utilization Transaction Center. The construction concept of community sports culture parks is to build parks close to communities, and show“community”,“sports” and“culture” characteristics. Moreover, the ultimate goal is to provide an open and green leisure space for the public as well as convenience for traveling and life.
