《James Dean》：為一代影星樹碑立傳
James Dean是美國演員，他的主流形象代表他所處時代青年的叛逆形象，也是“垮掉的一代”在銀幕上的代言人之一。
終其一生，James Dean只演過三部電影，分別是《伊甸園之東》、《無因的反抗》和《巨人》。而在《伊甸園之東》所飾演角色的頹廢和沉淪形象，很快讓他成為“垮掉的一代”青年心目中的偶像。1955年9月30日，James Dean在加州因為車禍遇難，也為美國電影史，留下了又一個具有悲劇色彩的傳奇。
由於James Dean不屬於西部範疇的概念，因此有他為名創作的歌曲，最終並沒有收錄在《Desperado》專輯裏，而是留到了《On the Border》專輯裏。對於同樣身處於“垮掉的一代”時代的“老鷹”樂隊來講，為James Dean樹碑立傳，其實也是紀錄他們的青春。而1994年在不插電演唱會上，于《Hotel Califonia》的音樂聲中，一起優雅的演奏和優雅的鼓掌，也正是一代人經過歲月洗禮之後的共鳴。臺上演的和台下聽到的，絕不僅僅只是中國歌迷所聽到的那些。
