從二十世紀80年代的石板畫，到二十世紀90年代的油畫，蘇新平都在以“與現實貼近”的風格去尋找自我創作的真諦。他的真實源於生命，關注周圍的人和事物，卻並不與風潮隨波逐流。無論角度如何變，他對其畫中的人，不論持何種態度，或崇敬，持批判，或憐憫，都帶有惻隱之心。同時通過揭示人與社會的現實關係，隱約暗示了某種懸念，甚至焦慮。而他在其繪畫中對現實和人的思考，與其説是從道德的角度，毋寧説是從命運的角度出發的。當然那絕不是關乎于一個個體中國人的命運，而是所有漂浮在這一“浮世”之中的人。

Su Xinping is always seeking for the true meaning of his art. His art style is “closing the reality”, and his reality comes from life. Whether his attitude towards the people in his work is revering, animadverting or commiserating, he always represents his pity and anxiety. He observes the lay folk, and thinks their fate.
This exhibit is the best show of his new works and new thoughts.
