The football field at Wenzhou Experimental Middle School (Jixin Campus) roared with chants of"China-Brazil Team! Go!" on the afternoon of March 24, as the"Vine China-Brazil: Shared Growth and Integration" cultural and economic exchange forum kicked off in Lucheng District. Centered on football diplomacy, school partnerships, and trade ties, the event forged new connections between Wenzhou and key Brazilian cities, fueling Wenzhou’s"Strong City Initiative."

Despite being among the world’s most geographically distant nations (18,800 km apart), China and Brazil have nurtured 50 years of mutual success. Wenzhou and Brazil have long collaborated in trade, culture, and tourism. Marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2024, Wenzhou and São Paulo established a sister-city pact, leveraging complementary strengths for deeper exchange.

At the forum, Wenzhou Children’s Art School and Brazil’s Elim School became sister institutions, using art to boost cultural confidence and global understanding through joint exhibitions and performances. The highlight was the"Vine China-Brazil" youth football match, where players—especially rising female stars—showcased next-gen talent and camaraderie. Brazilian footballer Bellinho, named Wenzhou’s Youth Football Ambassador, reunited with Yangyi No. 2 Primary School’s team (which trained in Brazil) to embody"friendship first, competition second."
