【我眼中的中國工匠】李燕肇:希望更多年輕人走近古建彩畫

工匠簡介:李燕肇,北京城建園林古建公司古建築彩畫工。2021年4月,李燕肇獲評第二屆“北京大工匠”。2022年4月,李燕肇獲評2022年首都勞動獎章。40年的職業生涯中,李燕肇參與了地壇公園方澤軒宰牲亭彩畫修繕、故宮太和門東西廡房及周邊建築群修繕、頤和園龍王廟、文昌閣和澹寧堂彩畫修繕及復建等。在數得上名號的古建築修繕施工現場,李燕肇的身影都出現過。讓古建彩畫煥發出昔日的光彩,是李燕肇用行動“表白”古建築的最好方式。

Craftsman profile: Yanzhao Li, a traditional artist of ancient Chinese architectural colored drawings of Beijing Gardens & Ancient Architecture Engineering Company. In April, 2021, Yanzhao Li was awarded the second "Beijing Great Craftsman". In April, 2022, he was awarded the list of Capital Labor Medal 2022 to be commended. During his 40 years' career, he participated in the renovation of the colored drawings in the slaughter pavilion in Fangzexuan,Ditan Park (also Temple of Earth), the renovation of colored drawings in the east and west wing-rooms of Gate of Supreme Harmony (Taihe men) in the Forbidden City and surrounding buildings, the renovation and reconstruction of those in the Longwang Temple, Wenchang Pavilion and  Danning Hall in the Summer Palace, and so on. Yanzhao Li has participated in the repair and restoration of some most famous ancient buildings, and it is the best way for Yanzhao Li to express his love for the ancient buildings to make these colored drawings on ancient building resume their brilliance again.

古建彩畫,是指在古建築物上繪製的裝飾畫。古建彩畫作為中國古代建築重要的組成部分,每一個裝飾畫背後蘊含的不僅僅是視覺上的美學價值,還有對中華文明的詮釋,體現的是一代代工匠們的匠心凝結。

Ancient architectural colored drawing is a traditional skill of ancient people to draw decorative paintings on ancient buildings. As an important part of ancient Chinese architecture, the colored drawings on ancient buildings contain not only the visual aesthetic value, but also the interpretation of Chinese civilization and inheritance of artists from generation to generation.

近日,來自馬利的留學生張衣笙和來自哥斯大黎加的留學生楊思思,來到北京的頤和園。對於頤和園中的“十里長廊千畫雅,一湖瓊液七霓懸”景色,他們早有耳聞。他們對古建彩畫有著濃厚的興趣,現場觀看後,讓他們驚嘆的是,百年來頤和園中的古建彩畫的色彩依舊如此艷麗。古建彩畫修復非遺傳承人李燕肇為他們講解了頤和園的彩畫,使其進一步了解中國古建築的修繕工作。

Recently, Yisheng Zhang, an international student from Mali, came to the Summer Palace with Sisi Yang, an international student from Costa Rica. They have long heard that the Summer Palace has the scenery of“a ten-mile corridor with thousands of elegant paintings, a lake with seven neon lights hanging”. Both of them have a strong interest in ancient architecturalcolored drawings, and after watching the paintings in the Summer Palace, they are even more amazed that the ancient architectural colored drawings there are still colorful for over a hundred years. Yanzhao Li, a non-genetic inheritor,illustrated the colored drawingsin the Summer Palace through the process of restoration to help the two international students learn more about the restoration of ancient buildings.

楊思思和張衣笙跟隨李燕肇來到了他的工作室,體驗了古建彩畫修復工作中的兩個基礎且極為重要的環節:拍譜子和立粉。在體驗過程中,兩位留學生神情專注,每一次落粉包和下筆都十分小心和嚴謹。遇到有不確定的地方,兩位留學生會及時向李燕肇請教,李燕肇給出的建議也都恰如其分地幫助他們解決了問題。

Sisi Yang and Yisheng Zhang followed Yanzhao Li to his studio, and experienced two basic and extremely important links in the restoration of ancient architectural colored drawing: Paipuzi (i.e. sifting power through the powder bag) and Lifen (draw paste along the powder line). During the process, the two international students were concentrated on the work they were doing, and were very careful and rigorous every time they were sifting powder with the powder bag and drawing lines. When they were uncertain what to do,they asked Yanzhao Li for advice in time,who gave suggestions to help them solve the problems appropriately.

李燕肇表示,當下正在修復的清代古建彩畫是以冷色調青和綠為主兼以紅色和點金。他指出,每個國家地區以及不同時期的古建彩畫都有其不同的特色,若想深入了解則需要花費大量時間和精力。而了解這些彩畫的特色也僅僅是古建彩畫修復前期工作中的一部分。李燕肇希望更多年輕人走近並探索古建彩畫的奧妙。

Yanzhao Li said that the colored drawings in the ancient buildings in Qing Dynasty (1636AD-1912AD) being restored at present are mainly used cool colors of cyan and green,decorated with red and gold. He pointed out that ancient architectural colored drawings in every country, region and different periods have their own characteristics,which takes a lot of time to understand thoroughly. Understanding these characteristics is only one step in the restoration of ancient decorative paintings. Yan Zhao hopes that more young people can approach and explore the mystery of ancient architectural colored drawings.

一天的時光雖然短暫,但是這一天下來通過向李燕肇請教和親身的實踐,留學生們對於古建彩畫有了更加深刻的認識。其中一名留學生回憶:“我來中國也有很多年了,今天之前我真的沒有想到,如今依舊生動的古建彩畫背後有著一批批像李老師一樣的古建彩畫修復師,他們十年如一日地付出真的讓我非常敬佩。相信在我之後的生活中也時常能從他這樣的精神中汲取力量。”

Although time is short, the two international students have a deeper understanding of ancient architectural colored drawings through consulting Yanzhao Li and their own personal practice. One of the international students recalled, "I have been in China for many years. I really didn't think that there are a group of restorers of ancient architectural colored drawings like Mr. Liuntil today who have make great efforts unknown in restoring those decorative paintings. I really admire such efforts. I am sure I can often draw strength from his spirits in my later life. "
