The François’s Langur is a key wildlife species protected at National Level I and one of endangered species according to International Union for Conservation of Nature, with only about 2,000 individuals left in the world. The latest survey data provided by Jinfo Mountain National Nature Reserve shows that the population of François’s Langurs inhabiting the area has increased from less than 80 initially found to 151.

In recent years, Jinfo Mountain National Nature Reserve in Nanchuan District has strictly controlled human activities in the area where the François’s Langurs is active, and has used more than 700mu of barren land to plant more than 30,000 trees to expand the area of suitable living environment for the langurs, so that its habitat continues to improve.
