占卜者之屋：黃永砯回顧展

“占卜者之屋: 黃永砯回顧展”是一次開創性審視的,跨越中西方,傳統與前衛之間界限的大型展覽。作為這位出生於中國，工作于巴黎的藝術家的首個回顧展，本次巡迴大展始於美國的沃克藝術中心（Minneapolis, USA），並將於中國北京的尤倫斯當代藝術中心（UCCA）落下帷幕。該展覽將展出黃永砯自1985年至今的繪畫、雕塑與裝置。此次大展是這位中國當代藝術的重要人物在國內的首個大規模展覽，亦是其世界巡展在全亞洲的惟一一站；北京觀眾也將有幸欣賞到黃永砯大量最重要的雕塑與裝置作品。
占卜者之屋被視為一件“ 整體藝術品 ”：它構成了一個單一的、巨大的雕塑環境，是遊樂園、透視畫和動物園的混合體。該展覽包括一件巨大的雕塑：一隻咆哮的老虎騎在一頭大象身上，這是對逝去的殖民歲月的一種評述；曾經關獅子的籠子組成通道，再加上由燈箱標出的小路都讓人想起飛機場裏的移民檢查站：“ 民族 ”與“ 他者 ”。這件裝置的“ 脊柱 ”是一條長 50 英尺的木製巨蟒，自天花板垂下，將觀者引至一件 1920 年代上海藝術風格的銀行建築的複製品前：該模型由 4000 磅的沙子與水泥建成，並在展覽期間逐漸解體。
展覽主題取自一件展品的題目，暗示觀眾可能攜帶的經驗：刺激－敬畏－鼓舞，甚至不安。當參觀者進入該展時，視覺感官經驗將因而徹底改變。

House of Oracles: A Huang Yong Ping Retrospective is a groundbreaking survey of Huang Yong Ping’s oeuvre, showcasing the Paris-based artist’s most important drawings, sculptural objects and installations from 1985 to the present. The exhibition traces Huang’s development as he addresses a range of concerns and concepts—from Europe’s colonial legacy to Chinese mythology and divination—in ways that are consistently surprising and provocative. UCCA's presentation of House of Oracles marks Huang’s first large-scale exhibition in China. A fully-illustrated catalogue accompanies the show.
Huang Yong Ping (b. 1954, Xiamen, China Based in Paris) has had solo exhibitions in venues across Europe, Asia, and America, and has participated in many important international group exhibitions, including the 2004 São Paulo Biennale, the Venice Biennale (1999 and 2003), the 2001 Yokohama Triennale and the 2000 Shanghai Biennial. House of Oracles: A Huang Yong Ping Retrospective is organized and curated by Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. It is made possible by generous support from Altria Group, E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, etant donnés: The French-American Fund for Contemporary Art and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. The Beijing presentation is organized by the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art.
