Following the success of Heng Artland's exhibition of "Harvest Scenery - Oil paintings by Xu Zhiguang" at the National Art Museum of China in Jan 2011, Heng Artland continues to work relentless and is now proud to announce that we will be bringing this exhibition "Harvest Scenery II - Oil Paintings by Xu Zhiguang" to our SEA collectors on 1st Dec 2012 - 9th Dec 2012 at the ION Art Gallery, Singapore.
Born in 1973, Xu Zhiguang is one of the young powerful painters in Contemporary China. Xu Zhiguang graduated from the Shandong Academy of Arts in 1995 and graduated from the Postgraduate courses of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2003. He previously taught at the Shandong Vocational College of Science and Urban Design Institute of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, and is currently a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Oil Painting. Xu Zhiguang, a Shandong-born painter, has the typical simple and guileless character of the Qilu people. Without a doubt, his personality traits have found their way into his artistic creations.
“Xu Zhiguang is an artist with a special affinity for colours, an important quality that supports his painting style…..Taking particular care of the delicate changes of contrast and shading. At the same time, he has been trying hard to incorporate the poetic expressiveness of Chinese ink-wash painting to his oil paintings. He has united the structure of the two different types of painting by combining the free expression of ink-wash painting with the deliberate modeling of oil painting.”
