1999年中國美協、中國書協在中國美術館舉辦了《沈岩書畫藝術作品展》。2000年赴新加坡舉辦《中國沈岩書畫展》和學術講座。2006年出席國際書法交流大展，受到新加坡總統納丹的接見。《源遠流長圖》人民大會堂收藏並被編入50週年珍藏集。中央電視臺、人民日報、香港商報、新加坡聯合早報、亞太日報等30多家媒體做過報道，上世紀80年代就受到了港臺、東南亞收藏家的青睞。
Jointly sponsored by Chinese Artists Association and Chinese Calligraphers Association, Mr. Shen Yan's Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition took place in National Art Museum of China in 1999. In 2000, Mr. Shen held his Personal Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition and gave some academic lectures in Singapore. In 2006, he attended International Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy in Singapore and met Mr. Sellapan Rama Nathan, then president of Singapore. His painting known as Overlapping Mountains and Long Rivers was included into the Great Hall of the People's 50th Anniversary Painting Collections. The story about Mr. Shen's paintings and calligraphic works are widely covered by many media including CCTV, People's Daily, Hong Kong Commercial Daily, Lian He Zao Bao of Singapore and Asia Pacific Daily. His works also win the favor of many art collectors in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Southeast Asia since 1980s.
