NPC is the highest organ of state power.It is composed of representatives selected by province, autonomous region, municipality directly under the central government, and army.The Standing Committee of NPC is a permanent organ of NPC. During adjournment of NPC, it executes the highest state power and is responsible for and reports its work to NPC.

In 2014, the people’s court will fully implement the guiding principles of the 18th NPC as well as Second Plenary Session and the Third Plenary Sessionof the 18th CCCPC. And the people’s court will firmly adhere to the principles of justice for people and judicial justice, so as to deepen reform constantly and conduct effective law enforcement work.

The 17th edition

In the afternoon of March 10th, Cao Jiaming, Procurator-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, delivered his work report of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate to the Second Meeting of 12th NPC, presenting a “Transcript” on anti-corruption to the people.

The 16th

On March 10th, Zhou Qiang, the President of the Supreme People’s Court, presented the work report on the Supreme People’s Court at the Third Plenary Session of the Second Meeting of the 12th NPC. He reported the main work of the Supreme People’s Court from seven aspects, and the working arrangement in 2014 from six aspects.

At 9 AM of March 5th, the secondary session of the 12th NPC was opened in the Great Hall of the People, and the Prime Minister of the State Council Li Keqiang gave a speech on government work which was the first report of current government. While focusing on the report, China.com.cn’s Channel of National Condition will explain in detail the procedures of generating the Prime Minister’s report.

The 13th

You may have heard of electing deputy of NPC rather than CPPCC members, because the CPPCC members are not selected by elections. Some stars like Guo Degang, Yao Ming, and Liu Xiang, etc. are selected as CPPCC members. What are the procedures for one to be a CPPCC member? Can foreigners be the CPPCC members? Under what circumstances is a member revoked?

At the beginning of 2013, Xi Jinping stressed at the second plenary meeting of 18th Commission for Discipline Inspection of CCCPC that “Power should be contained within a cage of regulation.” “To tackle corruption the Party must crack down on the “flies” at the bottom and the “tigers” higher up.” This year, people often receive the news that corruption officials were caught.

“Steady, Progress, Improvements”, are the three words that the director of State Statistics Bureau Ma Jiantang used to sum up the overall characteristics of economic operations in 2013. Specifically, it means the overall condition is steady, and there is still progress in the steady condition which is getting better and better. In the meanwhile, positive progress has been made in economic structural adjustments for China in 2013.

As the decision-making and deliberative and coordination organ of CPCCC on national security work, the SSC of CCCPC is accountable to the CPC Politburo and Politburo Standing Committee, planning and coordinating the big issues and important work involving state security.

The No.1 Document refers to the first document issued every year by the CCCPC. Within the 5 consecutive years from 1982 to 1986, the CCCPC issued No.1 Documents with the topic of three rural issues: agriculture, rural areas and farmers and then it became a propernoun in the history of rural reform—“five No.1 Documents”. Since 2004, the CCCPC has issued a No.1 Document on three rural issues for 10 consecutive years.

In order to make the days-off arrangement of China’s statutoryholiday more scientific and reasonable, the Office of the National Holiday Tourism Inter-Ministerial Coordination issued a plan on the 27th, it summarized the opinions from all quarters of the society in the previous questionnaire, and proposed three day-off adjustment plans and re-solicited public opinions, according to Measures on Having a Holiday for National Annual Leaves and Memorial Days.
