To allow more foreign tourists to experience and understand China, the National Immigration Administration has announced a comprehensive relaxation and optimization of transit visa-free policies effective from December 17th. Starting from this date, the Wenzhou Longwan International Airport officially implements the transit visa-free policy for foreigners, with a stay duration of up to 240 hours (10 days).
Additionally, the number of applicable ports has increased from 39 to 60, and the areas where stays are allowed have expanded from 19 provinces (regions, municipalities) to 24, permitting cross-regional travel. Eligible individuals from 54 countries, including Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and others, can now stay within any of the 24 provinces (regions, municipalities) that apply the transit visa-free policy in China, crossing provincial borders during their stay. During this period, they can engage in activities such as tourism, business, visits, and family reunions.
Eligible individuals from these 54 countries do not need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance; they only require a valid passport and connecting flight tickets. Upon arrival at an entry port, they should fill out a transit visa-free application card and submit it to the immigration inspection authority. After approval, they can enter China. If entering through the Wenzhou port, travelers are not limited to staying in the Wenzhou area alone but can also travel and stay within the administrative regions of the 24 provinces that apply this policy during the specified time and choose any one of the 60 ports for departure.
The stay period begins from midnight on the day after entry and ends at 24:00 on the 10th day. During this period, travelers must plan their routes reasonably within the policy-allowed areas and must not exceed these designated areas. Activities requiring prior approval, such as work or study, still necessitate obtaining a visa before coming to China. Furthermore, after entry, foreign travelers must register their accommodation at a hotel or local police station.
Should any issues arise, travelers can call the National Immigration Administration's service hotline at 12367 or use the official website's"12367 Online Service". The Wenzhou Public Security Bureau will provide multi-language services to answer questions, effectively enhancing the convenience of foreign travelers visiting Wenzhou.(Jin Yuanyuan)
