2024 World Young Scientist Summit · Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Forum held at Wenzhou University of Technology

On November 17th, academicians, young scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry elites from the global field of artificial intelligence gathered in Wenzhou to participate in the 2024 World Young Scientist Summit·Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Forum held at Wenzhou University of Technology, exploring new paths in artificial intelligence and machine learning together.

The forum aimed to promote innovation and application of artificial intelligence technology and create a better life through international cooperation.

With the theme"Discussing New Paths of Artificial Intelligence, Empowering the Development of New Quality Productivity," the forum attracted thousands of participants. At the event, the collaborative construction project of Wenzhou University of Technology's University Science and Technology Park was officially launched, and the School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (preparation), Wenzhou Institute of Artificial Intelligence Technology, and Wenzhou Metropolitan Area Development Research Institute were successively unveiled. At the same time, the World Wenzhou People AI Industry Alliance was also announced.

Gao Chunbo, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Innovation Service Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the World Young Scientist Union, said in his speech that China is actively embracing the development of artificial intelligence technology. He looked forward to witnessing the deep integration of scientific research and industry through this forum, using"AI+" as the engine to drive changes in education, industry, and organizations. He emphasized that international cooperation is key to accelerating the development of artificial intelligence and looked forward to scientists and entrepreneurs from all countries working together to create a better future for artificial intelligence.

At the forum, several well-known domestic and international scholars and industry leaders delivered keynote speeches. Academician Dai Qionghai, taking intelligent manufacturing as an example, explained the important role of sensors, computing power, and brain intelligence in empowering the development of new quality productivity; Academician Jin Yaochu discussed the evolutionary path from industrial artificial intelligence to general artificial intelligence and the challenges of artificial intelligence governance; other guests also shared the latest progress and application prospects of artificial intelligence technology from different perspectives.

As the only science and engineering university in Wenzhou, Wenzhou University of Technology has achieved significant results in the research and application of artificial intelligence. The university continues to focus on the"AI+" strategy, focusing on disciplines and majors such as artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing, building scientific research platforms such as the Generative Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and vigorously expanding exchanges and cooperation between schools, local governments, and enterprises. The discipline of intelligent science and technology has been listed as a first-class discipline construction in Zhejiang Province, and the Intelligent Electrical Industry College has also become a modern industrial college supported by the province.

The successful holding of this forum not only provided a platform for domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the field of artificial intelligence to exchange and cooperate but also injected new vitality into promoting international collaboration and innovative development of artificial intelligence technology.
