第111個國際護士節：他們是天使，也是戰士
2022年5月12日，是第111個國際護士節。1912年，為歌頌南丁格爾在護理領域作出的傑出貢獻，特以她的生日5月12日作為“國際護士節”，弘揚救死扶傷、甘於奉獻的人道主義精神。
May 12th, 2022 marks the 111th International Nurses Day. In 1912, May 12th, the date of Nightingale’s birth, was designated as the International Nurses Day, in memory of Florence Nightingale’s great contribution to modern nursing. This day also highlights the humanitarian spirits in those who are devoted to saving lives and tending to the wounded.
這個日子對於中國人來説還有另外一層特殊含義——全國防災減災日。2008年的這一天發生了汶川地震，5月12日，我們在致敬白衣天使，也在銘記災難時刻。
International Nurses Day is relevant to the Chinese in another way — it’s China’s National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day. On May 12, 2008, a huge earthquake struck Wenchuan, Sichuan province. Since then, the Chinese not only pay tribute to the nurses on May 12th, but also commemorate the tragedy.
如今，全球疫情肆虐，災難又一次考驗著我們。在疫情最危險的地方，總能看到一群身穿白色鎧甲的“戰士”們忙碌著——細心觀察病患的日常所需，耐心叮囑病患各種注意事項；用愛心想病患之所想，解病患之所憂；以強大的責任心去處理繁重瑣事，傳承南丁格爾“提燈女神”的精神。在這場疫情之戰中，護士以其專業性發揮著重要的作用——儘管他們似乎常常是在做“小事”，在醫院、社區、隔離點、檢測點……在人們最需要的時刻，去人們最需要的地方。
As the COVID-19 rages around the world, humanity is faced with yet another disaster. In the most dangerous places, a group of “warriors” in white can always be spotted: The nurses carefully tend to the needs of the patients, they patiently tell the patients what to pay attention to. They think ahead of the patients and relieve their anxiety with a loving heart. They handle miscellaneous tasks with a great sense of responsibility, carrying forward the spirit of “The Lady with the Lamp”. In this battle with the virus, nurses are playing a vital role using their professional knowledge and skills, although people often think they just do “trivial” things. In the hospitals and communities, at quarantine sites and testing sites, they fight their battle where they are most needed, when people need them most.
中國2022年護士節的主題是“關愛護士隊伍，護佑人民健康”。平日裏我們習慣了護士的存在，甚至偶有不解與埋怨，而在災禍與危難面前，我們則更能體會到護士的可敬與可愛。節日快樂，白衣天使、白衣戰士！
The theme for the 2022 Nurses Day in China is “caring for the nurses and protecting life and health”. On ordinary days, we seem to take what the nurses do for granted; sometimes we may even have misunderstandings and complaints. But when faced with disasters and danger, we find the nurses respectable and adorable more than ever. Happy Nurses Day! Salute to all the warriors in white, all the angles in white!
