Lancun town is located in the west of Ji'mo district of Qingdao province, covering an area of 102 square kilometers and 17.8 square kilometers in the built-up urban area, with a total of 57 villages and 4 neighborhood committees, and a resident population of 103,000, among them, 17 villages had an annual collective economic income of less than 100,000 yuan, and 18 villages had an annual collective economic income of more than 400,000 yuan. In 2018, the GDP has reached 7.872 billion yuan, the general budget revenue of the local government was 267 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 22,751 yuan.
Lancun town has been awarded the titles of'National Key Town','National Ecological Town','China Shoe Manufacturing Base','Cross-border E-commerce Town in Shandong Province' and'Qingdao E-commerce Model Town'. In 2013, Qingdao was designated Lancun town as one of the five pilot'small cities'. In 2018, as the only township in Shandong province, it was selected by the Publicity Department of the CPC central committee for a series of publicity reports on'Grassroots Campaign to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening up'.
Lancun town ranked second in 2017 and first in 2018 in regional economic development assessment. In July 2018, Zhou Zunxian, secretary of the party committee of Lancun town, was rated as a good secretary of Shandong province. In September 2019, Lancun people's government was rated as the advanced unit for the work of veterans in Shandong province.
