Brazilian Serie A: Flamengo held by late Egea goal
A last-gasp Alexandre Egea strike earned relegation-threatened America Mineiro a 1-1 home draw with Flamengo in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.
Michael Oliveira appeared to guarantee the defending champions their 12th win of the season by dribbling past five defenders with a brilliant solo run before coolly slotting an angled shot past Matheus Cavichioli.
But Egea stunned the visitors when he headed home at the far post in the 95th minute after Lucas Kal's cross from the left wing.
The result leaves Flamengo fourth in the 20-team Serie A standings, 11 points behind leaders Atletico Mineiro but with two games in hand.
Atletico climbed out of the relegation zone to 15th place with 24 points from 22 games.
In other fixtures on Sunday, Atletico Goianiense were held to a goalless home draw by Cuiaba, Athletico Paranaense secured a 4-2 home victory over Gremio, Fortaleza won 1-0 at Sport Recife, Juventude cruised to a 3-0 home defeat of Santos, Fluminense prevailed 2-1 at home to Bragantino and Internacional clinched a 2-0 home win over Bahia.
