This new series of photographic works were taken during 2007/2008 in small villages and rural area of Shanxi and Anhui provinces. Qu Yan, maintaining his artistic way of research, recorded and expressed his feelings about activities in the countryside churches (Catholic and Christian). As spaces for religious activities, churches built in different rural areas show a wide variety of mixed styles according to local culture, personal ideas and available means. Some of them didn’t get permission from the government and are still “underground”. Qu Yan’s artworks as windows on man’s soul and society, present the sensitive conditions of religious activities in contemporary China, but also the collision between foreign and local culture.
這組新的攝影作品是渠岩于2007-2008年在山西、安徽兩省的鄉村，郊區拍攝的。他沿用了自己的藝術研究方式，記錄並表達了自己對當前農村的教會活動（天主教、基督教）的情感。作為宗教活動的舉辦地點—教堂，也因當地文化特徵、個人情感和以各種可行的方式在各地建造著。而其中的一些教堂並沒有得到政府部門的許可，處於“地下活動”狀態。渠岩的藝術作品正如一扇扇社會之窗和人的靈魂之窗，展現了當代中國複雜、敏感的宗教狀況以及西方文化與中國當代本土文化的碰撞

How to find your way to Art Channel?
Quite easy!
Take the Airport Expressway and get out at the Beigao Exit. Join the Jingshun Road with direction to Beijing. Turn left at the first crossing and pass below the Airport expressway. Turn right and follow the Jichang Fulu (Airport side road) direction Beijing until approaching the 5th ring road.
Before the 5th ring road bridge turn left (ignore the street sign), along the 5th ring (beside your right), after about 100m, following the sign turning left, entering the village. Continue on the street until seeing on your left the sign board Art Channel（Just besides DOART GALLERY -
Hyundai Company）. Here we are. You can’t miss us!
最便捷的方式是走機場高速路；從北皋出口出來, 上京順路北京方向。行至第一個十字路口處左轉，穿過機場高速橋下再右轉，上機場輔路北京方向行至五環路五元橋前，您會在你的左手邊看到一個大型廣告宣傳牌, 寫著“草場地歡迎您！”左轉（別介意禁行標誌），沿著五環邊並隨著左轉標誌進村，直行您就會發現藝術通道就在您的左手邊（就在南韓現代 - 都亞特畫廊東邊），如您從其他進口進入草場地村，請多留意路兩邊電線桿上指路標誌。
