前言
若干年前，蒼鑫還不象現在有名，但他的潛質已顯露出來，受到了圈子內很多人的關注。果不其然，一段時間後，蒼鑫大踏步地前進，獲得了今天這種有目共睹的成就。人們長説，天道酬勤。又説，自助者天助。這都是對的，沒有一人能輕而易舉取得成績，勤奮幾乎是取得成績的代名詞，這些老生常談裏包含的真理是任何人無法逾越的。蒼鑫長年累月一如既往地勤奮勞作，在其創作的品種，類型和品質上，都值得稱道。我們把有些藝術家稱為勞動模範，裏面含有惋惜之意，表明其才華方面的欠缺；但有些藝術家則是雙豐收，既勤奮又富有才華，這是令人羨慕的。
中國當代藝術在二十多年的演變、發展中，已顯出後繼乏力的跡象。許多功成名就的藝術家固步自封，在自己已有的經驗裏原地踏步，或者，在市場和利益面前表現出卑躬屈膝的神態，放棄了繼續前行的志向，這種狀態危害不淺。我相信，沒有一個優秀的藝術家可以在他的有生之年聲稱，他已完成他的所有創造。生命有限，創造無涯，這方面，藝術史上的偉大藝術家給我們樹立了榜樣。其實，中國當代藝術家面臨的問題多多，而解決這些問題的難度也是很大的，中國當代藝術家沒有理由沾沾自喜，除非他是一個庸碌之輩。
蒼鑫仍在努力向前，這是他的可貴之處。這次他帶來了一些新作，在我館展出，相信是一次很好的機會，一方面與南京的同行們交流，另一方面也能讓這裡的觀眾和藝術愛好者欣賞到高品質的當代藝術作品。我作為蒼鑫的老朋友，預祝他的展覽成功！

Several years ago, Cang Xin was not that famous as present, but his potential genius had been disclosed and focused by many persons in the circle. As expected, later, Cang Xin made a great progress in his woks and obtained such achievements that are obvious to all. It is always said that heaven rewards the diligent and that heaven helps those who help themselves, both of which are absolutely right. No body can get achievements without pay-out and diligence is a representative word for success. The truth in those old sayings is worthy of our abidance. The works created by Cang Xin, no matter in type, variety or quality, are all worthy of praise. We call some artists as labor model, which contains certain meaning of pity, as it shows that they lack literary or artistic talent; but some artists have both literary or artistic talent and diligence, which always gain other’s admire.
Over 20 years’ development of contemporary art in China has uncovered certain weakening trend. Many famous artists refuse to make progress but stand still in their accumulated experiences, or show certain hangdog attitude toward market and benefits and give up the will to progress. I believe that no excellent artist could say that he/she had finished all his/her creation in his/her life. Life is limited, but creation is limitless. Some great artists in art history have built up an example for us. In fact, there are many problems faced by the contemporary artists, which are difficult to be solved. The contemporary artists of China have no ground to hug themselves on their achievements except he/she is mediocre and unambitious.
Cang Xin still insists to make efforts to progress, which shows his golden attitude and concept. This time, he brought us some new works. The exhibition in our gallery will be a good chance for him to communicate with the artists in Nanjing and also a good opportunity for art lovers in Nanjing to enjoy high quality contemporary artistic works. As Cang Xin’s old friend, I hereby congratulate his exhibition to be success beforehand.
