在我國西南邊陲有一個人口不足30萬但卻孕育著26個民族的小縣城——景谷傣族彝族自治縣。每年的農曆六月二十四是火把節，彝族人民一年中最盛大且隆重的一天。這一天在彝族兒女心中的重要程度堪比漢族同胞的春節。因為在彝族人民眼裏，火象徵著他們對光明的追求，人們認為火能驅除蟲害，保護莊稼生長。火，可以辭舊，也能迎新。

In the southwest border of China， there is a small county with a population of less than 300，000 but harboring 26 ethnic groups－－Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County． Every year， the 24th day of the 6th lunar month is the Torch Festival， the biggest and grandest day of the year for the Yi people， and the importance of this day in the hearts of the Yi people is comparable to that of the Spring Festival for the Han Chinese compatriots． Because in the mind of the Yi people， fire is the symbol of the Yi people’s pursuit of light， and it is believed to have the ability to drive away insects and pests and protect the growth of crops． Fire can be a way to dismiss the old， but also to welcome the new．

當天晚上9時許，活動拉開帷幕。活動分祭火種、接火種、點火種、萬人跳笙狂歡、撒火把五個環節。首先進行了祭火儀式，彝族群眾心中德高望眾的智者“朵西”在迎到火種後，手持神聖的“火種”入場，“朵西”在莊重的儀式中，虔誠地念誦著畢摩經，誠摯祈求來年風調雨順、五穀豐登、人民安康。

The event officially started at around 9 p．m． on the day of the Torch Festival． The event is divided into five parts： sacrificing the fire， greeting the fire， igniting the fire， thousands of people carnival， and scattering torches． The activity firstly carried out the fire sacrifice ceremony， the Yi people in the heart of the highly respected wise man”Duo Xi” in the welcome to the fire， holding the sacred”kindling” entry． In the solemn ceremony，”Duo Xi” recited the Bima scripture with devotion， sincerely praying for the wind and rain are favorable， the grains are plentiful， and the people are well．

祭火儀式結束後，全縣十個鄉鎮代表分別從“朵西”處接下了“團結火”、“繁榮火”、“幸福火”、“吉祥火”、“如意火”、“致富火”、“和諧火”、“平安火”、“康樂火”、“豐收火”，並在祭火臺呈上了當地的特産，同時，各族展演隊伍進行了民族民間傳統歌舞展演。接火種不僅寓意著火光不息的延續，更是各民族共同進步、共同繁榮發展的生動體現，大家接過火種，就預示著將肩負起傳遞溫暖與光明的使命。

After the ceremony， representatives of the ten townships in the county took over the”Fire of Unity”，”Fire of Prosperity”，”Fire of Happiness”，”Fire of Auspiciousness”，”Fire of Good Will”，”Fire of Prosperity”，”Fire of Harmony”，”Fire of Peace”，”Fire of Happiness”，”Fire of Fortune” from the”Duo Xi”， and presented local specialties on the altar fire． The teams of all ethnic groups performed traditional folk songs and dances． Taking over the fire not only symbolizes the continuation of the fire unceasingly， but also the vivid embodiment of the common progress and common prosperity and development of all nationalities． When everyone receives the fire， it signifies that they will shoulder the mission of transmitting warmth and light．

接火種儀式結束後，代表們共同點燃了佇立在廣場周邊象徵著幸福、和諧、團結、致富的4個巨型火把。全縣各族兒女手拉手圍著篝火歡歌樂舞，各族人民與遊客一同手持火把向身邊的人撒去祝福。隨著火把點燃，熾烈的火焰在燃燒，熊熊火焰不僅點亮了這個的夜晚，更照亮了各族人民攜手共進的道路，四堆熊熊燃燒的火把象徵著各民族團結一心、共同邁向繁榮的堅定決心。

After the fire ceremony， the representatives jointly lit the four giant torches standing around the square symbolizing happiness， harmony， unity and prosperity． The county’s people of all ethnic groups， hand in hand around the bonfire singing and dancing， they and tourists together with the torch to the side of the people scattered blessings． With the torches lit， blazing flames in the burning， roaring flames not only light up the night， but also light up the people of all ethnic groups to work together on the road， four piles of burning torches symbolize the unity of all ethnic groups， and work together to move towards the prosperity of the firm resolve．

根據官方數據公佈，2024年火把節期間該自治縣共接待遊客8．69萬人次，旅遊市場得以恢復，這個傳承了彝族文化的節日，在弘揚傳統文化的同時也帶動了當地的經濟發展。

According to date released by authorities， 86，900 tourists were entertained in the autonomous county during the Torch Festival in 2024， and the culture and tourism market has recovered well． The festival that inherits the Yi culture has brought more chances to the development of the local economy．
