黨的十八大以來，習近平總書記多次論述要“進行具有許多新的歷史特點的偉大鬥爭”。我們要牢牢把握鬥爭的方向，在複雜嚴峻的鬥爭中經風雨、見世面、壯筋骨，努力增強鬥爭本領。

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, General Secretary Xi Jinping has reiterated that “we must carry out a great struggle with many contemporary features.” We must stay on the right course in major struggle; we must brave storms, broaden our horizons and strengthen our muscles and bones to enhance our fighting capacity.

鬥爭是有方向、有立場、有原則的

凡是危害我國核心利益和重大原則的各種風險挑戰，凡是危害我們人民根本利益的各種風險挑戰，凡是危害我國實現“兩個一百年”奮鬥目標、實現中華民族偉大復興的各種風險挑戰，只要來了，我們就必須進行堅決鬥爭，而且必須取得鬥爭勝利。

We must fight resolutely and successfully against any risks and challenges that endanger our core national interests and principles, the fundamental interests of our people, the realization of the Two Centenary Goals and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. 

鬥爭是奔著矛盾問題、風險挑戰去的

Ready for the struggle to resolve problems, threats and challenges

領導幹部要有草搖葉響知鹿過、松風一起知虎來、一葉易色知天下秋的見微知著能力，對潛在的風險有科學的預判，知道風險在哪兒，表現形式是什麼，發展趨勢會怎樣，該鬥爭的就要鬥爭。

Leading officials should be sharp and quick in foreseeing and identifying potential threats, perceiving their locations, forms and likely trends, and resolving them as necessary.

注重策略方法，講求鬥爭藝術

Pay close attention to strategies and methods and master the art of struggle

合理選擇鬥爭方式、把握鬥爭火候，在原則問題上寸步不讓，在策略問題上靈活機動。要根據形勢需要，把握時、度、效，及時調整鬥爭戰略。要團結一切可以團結的力量，調動一切積極因素，在鬥爭中爭取團結，在鬥爭中謀求合作，在鬥爭中爭取共贏。

We should choose the right methods for addressing problems, take measured approaches, stick to our principles, and be flexible on strategies. We should adjust these as the situation demands, and apply them in a timely manner, to the proper extent, and for the best results. Moreover, we should unite all forces available, mobilize all favorable factors, and strive for unity, cooperation and mutual benefit in our endeavors.

夯實敢於鬥爭、善於鬥爭的思想根基

Prepare our minds for courageous and successful struggle

要弄懂弄通做實黨的創新理論，掌握馬克思主義立場觀點方法，夯實敢於鬥爭、善於鬥爭的思想根基，理論上清醒，政治上才能堅定，鬥爭起來才有底氣、才有力量。

We must grasp and apply new theories of the Party, master the Marxist stance, viewpoint and methodology, and thereby prepare our minds for courageous and successful struggle. Only when we are cognizant of the theories, can we be politically firm and have the courage and strength to fight. 

堅持在重大鬥爭中磨礪

Hone ourselves in major efforts of struggle

越是困難大、矛盾多的地方，越是形勢嚴峻、情況複雜的時候，越能練膽魄、磨意志、長才幹。領導幹部要主動投身到各種鬥爭中去，在大是大非前敢於亮劍，在矛盾衝突面前敢於迎難而上，在危機困難面前敢於挺身而出，在歪風邪氣面前敢於堅決鬥爭。

The more serious and complicated the situation is, and the more difficulties and problems there are, the better we can exercise our courage, sharpen our will, and develop our capacity. Leading officials should actively engage themselves in the struggle, take an unequivocal stance in major matters of principle, tackle problems and conflicts head-on, step up in the face of crisis, and resolutely fight against misconducts.
