從延安整風運動到“不忘初心、牢記使命”主題教育，記載著中國共産黨不斷進行自我革命的政治勇氣。習近平總書記曾強調，越是長期執政，越不能忘記黨的初心使命，越不能喪失自我革命精神，在新時代把黨的自我革命推向深入。

The political moves taken by the CPC, from the Yan’an Rectification Movement to the Aspiration and Mission education campaign, has illustrated the Party’s courage of constantly reforming itself. In General Secretary Xi Jinping’s words, the longer the Party is in power, the more it should remember its original aspiration and founding mission, and the more it should carry out self-reform in a new era.

敢於直面問題 

The courage to face up to problems

以刀刃向內的自我革命精神，廣泛聽取意見，認真檢視反思，把問題找實、把根源挖深，明確努力方向和改進措施。檢視問題要防止大面化之、隔靴搔癢，避重就輕、避實就虛。針對查擺出來的問題，要對症下藥，切實把問題解決好。

Party members and officials need to be bold in reforming themselves. They need to widely solicit opinions, examine their conduct, reflect on problems, and find the root causes, so as to know where to improve and how to improve. No one should brush off defects casually, downgrade the severity of problems, or avoid key issues and real problems. When a problem is pinpointed, targeted measures need to be provided to address it effectively.

勇於修正錯誤 

The courage to correct mistakes

要把“改”字貫穿始終，立查立改、即知即改，能夠當下改的，明確時限和要求，按期整改到位；一時解決不了的，要盯住不放，通過不斷深化認識、增強自覺，明確階段目標，持續整改。

Rectification is key . When a problem is found, it needs to be corrected at once. A time limit needs to be set for problems that we expect to resolve quickly, and the requirements must be met before the deadline. Those that cannot be resolved soon need to be kept on the radar, and followed up with conscientious and continuous efforts directed towards targets set for different stages.

自覺接受人民群眾監督 

willingly accept public supervision

對黨內的一些突出問題，人民群眾往往看得很清楚。黨員、幹部初心變沒變、使命記得牢不牢，要由群眾來評價、由實踐來檢驗。我們不能關起門來搞自我革命，而要多聽聽人民群眾意見，自覺接受人民群眾監督。

These problems are always visible to the public. Whether Party members and officials remain true to the Party’s original aspiration and founding mission needs to be judged and evaluated in practice. We can never carry out self-reform behind closed doors. We must be receptive to the public's suggestions and willingly accept their supervision.

全面增強執政本領 

Enhance our governance capability

自覺向書本學習、向實踐學習、向人民群眾學習，加強黨性鍛鍊和政治歷練，不斷提升政治境界、思想境界、道德境界，全面增強執政本領。

We must learn from books, from practice and from the people, strengthen our Party consciousness and political ability, raise our political, theoretical, and ethical level, enhance our governance capability.

守正和創新相統一 

Uphold the correct path and embrace innovation

深刻把握時代發展大勢，堅決破除一切不合時宜的思想觀念和體制機制弊端，勇於推進理論創新、實踐創新、制度創新、文化創新以及各方面創新，通過革故鼎新不斷開闢未來。

We must have a clear picture, be resolute in removing all theoretical and institutional barriers, and experiment with theoretical, practical, institutional and cultural measures.

把黨建設得更加堅強有力 

Eliminate any virus that erodes the Party’s health

在新的征程上，我們要把黨建設成為始終走在時代前列、人民衷心擁護、勇於自我革命、經得起各種風浪考驗，朝氣蓬勃的馬克思主義執政黨，就必須牢記初心和使命，在新時代把黨的自我革命推向深入。

We must fulfill this mission on the new journey and reform the Party further in the new era to build it into a vibrant Marxist governing party that is always at the forefront of the times, enjoys the wholehearted support of the people, has the courage to reform itself, and is able to withstand all tests.
