不忘初心，牢記使命，就不要忘記我們是共産黨人，我們是革命者，不要喪失了革命精神。昨天的成功並不代表著今後能夠永遠成功，過去的輝煌並不意味著未來可以永遠輝煌。時代是出卷人，我們是答卷人，人民是閱卷人。

To remain true to our original aspiration and founding mission, we must never forget that we are Communists and revolutionaries and we must never lose our revolutionary spirit. We can never allow ourselves to lose our revolutionary spirit and to indulge in complacency and pleasure-seeking amidst flattery and praise. Rather, we must remember that midstream is where the current is the strongest and the road halfway up the hill is steeper. 不忘初心，牢記使命，説到底是為什麼人、靠什麼人的問題。以百姓心為心，與人民同呼吸、共命運、心連心，是黨的初心，也是黨的恒心。

Staying true to our founding mission is, in essence, a matter of whom we serve and whose support sustains us. Our Party was founded for the people and has always been of one heart with the people. Bound to the people by an inseverable tie, the Party will always be in the service of the people to fulfill its mission.

一個人也好，一個政黨也好，最難得的就是歷經滄桑而初心不改、飽經風霜而本色依舊。黨的初心和使命是黨的性質宗旨、理想信念、奮鬥目標的集中體現，激勵著我們黨永遠堅守，砥礪著我們黨堅毅前行。從石庫門到天安門，從興業路到復興路，我們黨近百年來所付出的一切努力、進行的一切鬥爭、作出的一切犧牲，都是為了人民幸福和民族復興。正是由於始終堅守這個初心和使命，我們黨才能在極端困境中發展壯大，才能在瀕臨絕境中突出重圍，才能在困頓逆境中毅然奮起。忘記初心和使命，我們黨就會改變性質、改變顏色，就會失去人民、失去未來。

Either for a person or for a party，what must be treasured most is the adherence to one’s original aspirations and good qualities in the face of any hardships encountered. For our Party, its original aspiration and founding mission epitomize its nature, purpose, ideals, convictions and goals, and motivate us to stand fast and march forward. From the Shikumen building where our Party was established, to the Tian'anmen Rostrum where the founding of our country was declared, and on to the path of the new era, all of our Party's efforts, struggles and sacrifices have been dedicated to the people's wellbeing and national rejuvenation. Our original aspiration and founding mission have enabled the Party to grow and prosper in extreme difficulties, break through tight encirclements, and rise in adversity. Without them, our Party would change its nature, lose public support, and risk its future.
