United Nations Goodwill Ambassador
Zhou Liucheng is the news anchor of the UN Goodwill Ambassador and the host of“The China Current with James Chau”. He regularly interviews world leaders in politics, science and health and has earned a special reputation; he has interviewed people including Nobel laureate Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, Muhammad Yunus, Ang The prime season and Winnie Mandela, Christina Lagarde and Arianna Huffington.
He is the editor of the China-US Exchange Foundation and, in this capacity, hosts the"The China Current with James Chau" program, a digital story-sharing program for the future of the world. Previously, he was the guest host of“Horizons”, the award-winning program of the BBC World News program, and he was also the main anchor of CCTV's news program, with 80 million viewers.
In 2016 he was appointed as the World Health Organization's Sustainable Development Goals and Health Goodwill Ambassador. Since 2009, he has also served as UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador. He is the first person in China to be selected for this position. He is a frequent public speaker and hosts high-level international events led by Vladimir Putin, Bill Gates, Ma Yun, Justin Trudeau and Laura Bush.
Born in London, his parents are from Indonesia and Hong Kong. He studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music and graduated from Cambridge University. He also completed a non-degree program in global leadership at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has many non-profit positions, including directors of the Menuhin competition.
