Tianjin Museum celebrates Lantern Festival with cultural packs
Tianjin Museum has launched a music performance, cultural market and special exhibition for Lantern Festival.
The museum invited the national orchestra of Tianjin Song and Dance Theater to present a folk music performance at the museum in celebration of Lantern Festival. The visitors can not only enjoy the exhibitions, but also the professional musical performances usually only accessible in theaters.
In addition, the museum also followed festival traditions by opening a cultural market in the museum, with stalls showcasing traditional handmade, cultural and creative design and calligraphy works.
“Here is a rubber stamp made by ourselves, and the rabbit inside is a special one we created for this year, so that people can experience the craft by themselves,”said a stall keeper.
“I feel that the market is very creative. As the Year of the Rabbit is my birth year, I bought a red hand-woven bunny bag here and I like it very much,” said a visitor.
It also launched an exhibition of more than 100 selected cultural relics dating from the Song (960-1279) and Yuan(1271-1368) dynasties, 70 percent of which are being displayed for the first time.
