Beijing midfielder Nebijan survives head injury scare

Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan announced on Monday that their midfielder Nebijan Muhmet has recovered from a head injury he sustained in Sunday's game.

The 21-year-old player was taken off in the 90th minute of Beijing's 2-1 loss at home to Wuhan Three Towns.

"He was left in an unconscious and semi-comatose state and feeling queasy -- symptomatic of an acute brain injury," the Beijing club wrote in a statement.

A subsequent CT scan in hospital found no signs of damage to Nebijan's brain, and the suspecting symptoms of a brain injury then dissipated, the statement read.

The player has returned to the Beijing team after receiving treatment and a two-hour observation at the hospital, Beijing Guoan said.
