Qujiang's "Film and Television + Cultural Tourism" Continuing to Embrace
"Belt and Road Initiative"

Expanding the vision to the "Belt and Road Initiative", Qujiang New District has launched a series of targeted works. Zhang A'li, chairman of Shaanxi Literature and Art Critics Association and dean of Film Academy of Northwest University, believes that the most outstanding one is the film The Composer. 

The Composer is the first feature film co-produced by China and Kazakhstan. Centering around the famous modern Chinese musician, Xian Xinghai, it recounts his turbulent last five years in Kazakhstan and his friendship in adversity with the outstanding Kazakh musician Baikadamov and his family. The audience and critics in both China and Kazakhstan have given the high praise to this film. 

This May, in the 18th and 19th Award Ceremony for Huabiao Film Awards, The Composer stood out among many outstanding films, winning the title Best Feature of the 18th Huabiao Film Awards.

With a view of internalization, Qujiang New District caters to "the Belt and Road Initiative". The 9th Silk Road International Film Festival, as the first international large-scale event in Xi'an in 2023, was held in Qujiang New District around New Year's Day in 2023, marking that Chinese film industry has overcome the pandemic. Nowadays, Qujiang New District has successfully hosted Silk Road International Film Festival for 5 times. 

Qujiang Film & TV undertakes the mission of the time. The film Meritorious Service, produced by Qujiang Film & TV, is adapted from the true stories of the first eight winners of Medal of the Republic. With the art technique of "national narrative and expression of the times", it connects eight meritorious figures' splendid life with the fate of the Republic, demonstrating their lofty character of devoting themselves to the motherland.

For many years, Qujiang New District has been the source of Shaanxi stories.

Xiying Park, located in Qujiang New District, was once an important film producing base in western China and the cradle of the fifth generation directors. A number of well-known directors, screenwriters, actors and well-known excellent films from there have won numerous awards in major film events at home and abroad.

Qujiang New District stands as the hub of film and television enterprises, including Qujiang Film & TV, Chin Empire, Yaya Film & TV, as well as local film and television enterprises like Xiying Group and Shaanxi Culture Industry Investment Group. All of them constitute an enterprise matrix to promote the high-quality development of the film and television industry. At present, with over 100 film and television enterprises, a whole industrial chain integrating investment, shooting, production, distribution, copyright trading and cinema operation is formed in Qujiang New District.

Qujiang New District also values the cultivation of young talents in film and television industry. Meilin Culture, a subsidiary of Qujiang Film & TV, and iQiyi have jointly launched the "Young Creators Program" to support young filmmakers, cultivate future stars and create masterpieces.

Qujiang New District has also cooperated with Bauhinia Culture Group, iQiyi, Youku and other video streaming platforms to build the cooperation modes such as "City IP Co-creation" and "One City, One Taste". Up to now, over 50 projects have been gradually undertaken in collaboration with 20 cities.
