Frankfurt hosts Dehua white porcelain exhibition

An exhibition of the famous Chinese Dehua white porcelain is in full swing at the Stadthaus in Frankfurt, Germany.

Over 90 items of Dehua white porcelain, known to European customers as "Blanc de Chine", are on display at the exhibition.

The items, produced in Dehua County in China's Fujian province, include tea services, vases and effigies.

The Frankfurt show is the first leg of an itinerant exhibition which will visit around 20 countries around the world over the course of five years.

White porcelain produced in Dehua hit foreign markets as early as the Song Dynasty, and became popular in Europe during the Ming Dynasty.

The aim of the itinerant exhibition, which was initiated by white porcelain producers in Dehua and kicked off in Beijing, is to promote the industry and explore opportunities for cooperation with foreign partners.

The exhibition in Frankfurt will last till Wednesday.
