Guerrero leaves Argentina's Racing Club

Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero has parted ways with Racing Club after less than six months with the Argentine side.

The decision to terminate the 39-year-old's contract was made by mutual consent, Racing said in a statement on Thursday.

"We thank you for your human and professional quality and your permanent commitment to the service of the team," read a statement on Racing's official website.

Guerrero, Peru's all-time leading scorer with 38 goals in 107 international appearances, has been beset by knee problems in recent years.

The former Bayern Munich forward had been tied to Racing until December, having joined the club on a free transfer in January.

He registered just three goals and two assists in 22 games across all competitions for the Buenos Aires club.
