Huaer Song "White Peony My Love" Resonates at Folk Song Exhibition

In April this year, the 5th "Sounds of Nature, Appointment at Shi Hai" Western Folk Song Exhibition was held in Yibin City, Sichuan Province. Wang Juan, a renowned national first-class performer, member of the Chinese Musicians Association, and director of the Linxia Prefecture Music and Dance Association, performed the Huaer song "White Peony My Love", showcasing the beauty of folk songs.

"White Peony My Love" is one of the classic Hezhou Huaer songs. It praises the girl in one's heart, likening her to a beautiful and noble peony. It also expresses the people's longing for beautiful love and life.

During the exhibition, a total of 38 works (including original folk songs and new compositions) selected from 12 western provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) such as Tibet, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Guangxi, Gansu, Chongqing, as well as various cities (prefectures) in Sichuan, were presented, bringing a splendid audiovisual feast to the audience.Through a combination of various performance forms, distinctive ethnic costumes, and rich ethnic flavors, the charm of western folk songs and the splendor of ethnic culture were fully showcased.With diverse styles of folk song compositions, captivating melodies, and lively dances, the audience was captivated and immersed in the performance.

It is reported that the Western Folk Song Exhibition has been successfully held for four sessions since 2014. It has become a grand event to promote the deep integration of culture and tourism in the western region, accelerate the development of cultural undertakings and cultural industries, resonate with the zeitgeist, and promote the exchange, display, and promotion of ethnic folk music and arts in the western region.
