In the scorching summer of Hezheng, the rural areas have undergone a picturesque transformation, with each farmhouse exuding a fresh and vibrant charm. Clean and spacious rural roads crisscross, connecting every corner, while well-equipped cultural squares resound with laughter and joy. Like a series of paintings portraying idyllic countryside scenes, a canvas of serene beauty unfolds gracefully across the land of Hezheng.

A sound ecological environment is conducive to the development of tourism. A clean, tidy, and comfortable living environment serves as the foundation for developing the tourism industry. Qi Zihu, a villager from Langtuquan Village in Songmingyan county, is a prime example. Guided by various beneficial policies from the Party and the government, he has successfully established the agritainment in the village. With continuous improvements in infrastructure and significant enhancements in the living environment of Langtuquan Village, coupled with favorable conditions for tourism development, an increasing number of people choose to visit this place to admire its scenic beauty, savor delicious cuisine, and alleviate their homesickness. Qi Zihu, once a farmer, never dreamt that farmers could also benefit from tourism. Today, he has transformed into a successful agritainment owner.

Qi Zihu said, "The favorable policies of the country, coupled with the excellent ecological environment here, prompted me to establish the agritainment. I never expected to benefit from the tourism boom. I am grateful for the government's supportive policies."

It is reported that, based on the overall development plan of "one core leading, two parks driving, and three belts collaborating" proposed by Songming town in Hezheng County, the region has leveraged the resources of three 4A-level tourist attractions—Fatai Mountain, Songmingyan, and Hualin Geological Park—and the advantages of being a "Chinese characteristic town" and a "Gansu characteristic town." This has enabled the creation of a cultural and tourism industry that combines rural leisure vacations with cultural experiences. The county has also fostered and developed agricultural industries with a focus on crop rotation between highland summer vegetables and medicinal mushroom cultivation. A development model has gradually emerged in which rural tourism has blossomed in multiple areas, characterized by intensified and expanded specialty planting, as well as the transformation and upgrading of labor services. Leveraging the unique rural landscapes, efforts have been made to encourage and mobilize farmers to develop homestays and agritainment bases. Currently, there are 12 operational agritainment bases, with 5 under construction, gradually shaping a new form of rural tourism that encompasses "visiting rural courtyards, enjoying farmhouse meals, staying in farmhouse dwellings, and experiencing agritainment."

The construction of a harmonious countryside has not only created a favorable living environment but also achieved comprehensive improvement in both appearance and essence. Shi Hailian, a villager from Xiaolangshe Village, witnessed the increasingly beautiful living environment and significant improvement in living standards in her hometown. This has filled her with even more vitality and enthusiasm in pursuing a happy and prosperous future life. The joy on her face and the excitement in her mind are filled with a sense of achievement and happiness.

"In recent years, our living standards have been continuously improving. Every summer, every household cleans their courtyards and keeps them neat and tidy. Various flowers are planted in front and behind the houses. Taking a stroll outside brings about great mood. Living in such an environment, I feel incredibly happy," Shi Hailian said with joy.

Wang Zhilong, the village party branch secretary and village committee director, said, "To better build a livable and business-friendly harmonious rural area, we organized a villagers' information session to fully mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of the masses in participating in the large-scale improvement of the living environment. We also organized town and village officials, cleaning staff, and the community to participate together. At present, the rectification work has achieved significant results. The improved appearance of the village has been praised by the masses, and a favorable atmosphere of cooperation between the government and the people has been formed to jointly build a beautiful homeland."
