Uzbek central bank keeps main rate unchanged
Uzbekistan's Central Bank on Thursday said it has decided to keep its main interest rate unchanged at 15 percent annually as the pressure on domestic market prices continues.
The regulator said in a statement that in the last three to four months, inflationary expectations of the population and the general inflation trend have not changed significantly.
At the same time, the growing trend in core inflation requires maintaining "moderately tight" monetary conditions in the economy, said the statement.
In July, the central bank lowered the main interest rate to 15 percent from 16 percent.
Annual inflation rate in November was 12.3 percent, according to the bank.
