The 9th China Qin Opera Art Festival Raised the Curtain for Famous Artists
and Classic Plays

On the evening of June 13, 2022, the opening ceremony of the high-profile "9th China Qin Opera Art Festival" was held in Xi'an, and a cultural feast of Qin Opera was staged in the ancient capital. Famous artists and new stars from 33 troupes in 5 provinces and autonomous regions in Northwest China present more than 70 Qin Opera plays to the audience with superb acting and authentic singing skills.

Qin Opera is a traditional play in Northwest China, popular among the local people. Qin Opera represents the cultural wealth of Chinese traditions, praises the bright, generous and righteous character of northwest people and passes on the sincerity and spirit of Chinese people who work hard and forge ahead bravely. It is Xi'an's mission to protect, inherit and develop the art of Qin Opera.

With the theme of "Banquet of Qin Opera and People's Festival", this year's Qin Opera Festival aims to show the achievements of inheritance and development of Qin Opera culture in an all-round way, highlight the popularity of Qin Opera, and advocate the value of literature and art in serving and praising the people.

This year's Qin Opera Art Festival presents "Online + Offline" performances and the plays are broadcast through platforms such as "Cloud Theater" and "Slow Live-streaming" so that the whole world can enjoy "Qin Sound and Qin Charm". With the slogan of "Qin Opera is the oldest rock and roll", the Festival invites rock singers to participate in the creation. Modern animation technology and presentation techniques are adopted to spread through the Internet new ideas of "Animation + Rock + Qin Opera". To this end, a virtual recommender "Qin Xiaoya" has been created, who leads the audience to experience the unique charm of Qin Opera culture, and gets more young people familiar with traditional Chinese opera.
