Chinese shares close mixed Wednesday
Chinese stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.1 percent, at 3,592.70 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.12 percent lower at 14,887.59 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.2 trillion yuan (about 187.8 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.23 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares of industrial metals and garment and home textiles rose across the board. Planting and voice technology bucked the trend to post lackluster performances.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.4 percent to close at 3,478.66 points.
