Wasted mine-transformed park in Chongqing

Facing the deterioration of the environment, local government closed the Tongluo Mountain quarry in 2012. Starting from 2016, ecological restoration projects of Tongluo Mountain were carried out and the former quarry was turned into a mine park. With the improvement of the environment, the park also offered job opportunities to local villagers. It has received over 500,000 visitors since its trial operation in February 2021.
