The Composer Wins another International Award
At the Golden Angel Award Presentation Ceremony of the 15th Sino-US Film Festival, the feature film The Composer produced by Xi'an Qujiang Film and Television Investment Group and co-produced by China and Kazakhstan won the "Golden Angel" award, followed by another good news that The Composer wins another award.
The annual Hollywood Golden Screen Awards were held in Los Angeles on the night of November 9 at local time. Film The Composer lived up to expectations and became the biggest winner with four awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Music.
The Golden Screen Awards, jointly sponsored by the Motion Picture Association of America, the Hollywood Reporter, the UCFTI EXPO and the Chinese Film Co-Production Corporation, have been held four times so far to award outstanding film organizations and individuals who have made important contributions to the co-production of Chinese and foreign films.
This year's Golden Screen Awards were presented by Mike Ellis, President of the Asia Pacific Region of the Motion Picture Association of America; Zhang Ping, Consul General of China in Los Angeles; and a number of prominent Hollywood directors, writers and producers. The International Awards have become an important access and annual event for Hollywood and the global film industry to understand and explore the Chinese film market.
The Composer is the first co-production between China and Kazakhstan. The film tells the story of Xian Xinghai, a famous Chinese composer, who unfortunately drifted to Alma-Ata and other places during the Second World War. Directed by Chinese director Xirzat Yahup, the film was co-starred by first-line actors from China and Kazakhstan, including Hu Jun, Yuan Quan, Ju Xue, Berik Aitzhanov, and Aruzan Gazzobekova, and was well acclaimed by critics and audiences in many countries.
The award of The Composer is another honor of Qujiang Film and Television Group, following the Sino-US Film and Television Festival "Golden Angel" award.
