The Opening Ceremony of 2018 World Cultural Tourism summit and Chan Ba in Xi’an Would be the Permanent Conference Site

In Oct. 9th, the 2018 World Cultural Tourism summit opened in Xi'an Chan-Ba Ecologlcal District. Officials from the World Tourism Organization and foreign embassies and consulates in China, the heads of the top 500 world tourism enterprises and the top 100 Chinese tourism enterprises, the heads of domestic and foreign tourism destination marketing organizations, the heads of key scenic spots and theme parks and other guests gathered in Xi'an to talk freely about the road of innovation and development of cultural tourism industry. Wang Yongkang, member of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Xi'an Municipal Party Committee, Wei Zengjun, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, Li Baochun, Deputy Secretary General of the Federation of World Tourism Cities, Sun Jie, CEO of Ctrip took part in the conference and delivered the speech. At the meeting, the permanent site of the World Cultural Tourism Congress was unveiled in Xian Chan Ba, marking that Xian Chan Ba Eco-Zone officially became the permanent site of the World Cultural Tourism Congress.

The conference were hosted by Xi'an Municipal Government, Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Development Committee, as well as Ctrip Group and to some extent, organized by Xi’an Tourism Development Committee, Xi'an Exhibition Industry Development Office, Xi'an foreign affairs and overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and Xi'an Chan-Ba Ecological District Management Committee, Ctrip Group Government resources Cooperation Department, and Travel Daily. The conference focused on the subject of “Blending Ideas to Build the Future”, containing the opening ceremony of world cultural tourism summit, Xi'an Creation of World Tourism Fashion Capital Summit Forum, as well as World Cultural Tourism Conference Series Theme Forum. During the two-day agenda, the participants would discuss the hot topics from multi dimensions and perspectives. Such as, the cultural tourism IP, tourism performance market, cultural tourism product development, the commercialization of residential accommodation and characteristic towns, new marketing of destination scenic spots and the application of new scientific and technological means. A thorough analysis of the road of internationalization of tourism in Xi'an would be provided to give suggestions for the development of Xi'an's cultural tourism industry.

Xi’an, which plays as the ancient 13 cities, has rich cultural resources. In recent years, In order to build an international first-class tourist destination city, Xi’an vigorously promotes "culture +" and "tourism +", striving to create a Silk Road Cultural highland and the world's tourism fashion capital. It has basically formed a relatively complete cultural tourism reception system and development pattern. During the "Golden Week" this year, Xi'an received 16.92 million tourists, and its tourism revenue reached 13.9 billion, with an increase of 45% and 140% respectively. In Ctrip's 2018 National Day travel forecast report, Xi'an ranks first among the top ten domestic tourist destination cities.
