“Physics in My Eyes” International Children’s Drawing Exhibition Held in Sydney (People’s Daily Online: Ji He)

SYDNEY, July 30 -- Hosted by China Children’s Press and Publication Group and People’s Daily Online Australia, China and Australia Culture and Early Education Seminar and “Physics in My Eyes” International Children’s Drawing Exhibition were held in Sydney on 28th of July.

Created by preschool children from China and Australia, 80 beautiful drawings were selected for exhibition. According to Ms Zhang Nan, Editor-in-Chief of China Children’s Press and Publication Group, the aim of the event is to guide pre-school children to science-related reading materials, and to arouse their interest and curiosity into physics world.

“UTS would like to collaborate with international partners to promote technology for Australia as well as for the international community, “ said Mr Leo Liu, Vice President, Global Partnerships of the University of Technology Sydney.

“We are now introducing the high-quality children’s books to overseas countries and also helping great authors like Dr Chris Ferrie to publish their books into different countries,” said Ms Zhang Likun, Managing Director of People & Tangel Publishing House.

“I feel fortunate that I found my way into Physics because there wasn’t something that I used to do when I was a child. Many children today might be interested in Physics, and they have the opportunity to know Physics, “ said Dr Chris Ferrie, a children science books author and PhD in Applied Mathematics.

During the ceremony, Dr Ferrie gave a lively physics lecture to children using his new popular science book “The Science of Flying”, which is one of the books from “Red Kangaroo’s Thousands Physics Whys” series. It is the second popular children’s science book series that Dr Ferrie wrote for the children in the world.

On the day, China Children’s Press and Publication Group and Little Genius Academy Australia signed a cooperation agreement.

Dr. Shuangyuan Shi, Manager of China International Strategy, Department of Education, New South Wales, Ms Mandy Xue, General Manager of People’s Daily Online Australia, Professor Huo Liyan from Beijing Normal University, Mr Lin Dong, Vice-Director of Young Children Publishing Centre, China Children’s Press and Publication Group, Ms Xiong Jie, CEO of Little Genius Academy Australia, Ms Samantha Battisti, Regional Manager and Head Supervisor of Little Genius Academy Australia and many education experts, teachers, parents, and children in China and Australia attended the event.
