Xi Xiaojun explicates craftsmanship

China Vtion (ZhouTong)—Relying on a pair of hands, the milling worker XiXiaojun of Shaanxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd has produced hundreds of thousandsof auto parts and mold parts, achieved more than 100 innovations andimprovements in 21 years in the milling class. Some products even need to beaccurate to decimillimetre (machinery common units, 1 mm = 100decimillimetres), but Xi has never produced a defective product. "The workis not only done with hands, but also with heart". In Xi's view, thecraftsmanship is to produce products with heart.

After his graduation from Shaanxi Automobile Technical School in 1988, Xiengaged himself in milling machine operation in the production workshop. Themold he made was used in the car suspension system, which directly affected thedriving safe. Therefore, he is very strict to himself. CNC milling machines canprocess molds to required accuracy at one time. And the requirement for laborsis to reach the accuracy within two times, but Xi always strictly demandshimself with the level of machine. "If our quality target is 99.9%, I willpursue that extra 0.01% to achieve 100% perfection", Xi said.

Xi Xiaojun has trained more than 40 apprentices, many of whom have becomeexecutives in management. As an experienced worker in the milling class, Xi hadmany opportunities for promotion. His heart was once shaken, but he finallyrefused to leave. "If all experienced workers have left, then who shouldbe responsible for the training of new comers? I hope to train more technicalexperts and contribute to the development of the group". Harboring suchbelief, he has persisted in his position for 21 years and cultivatedgenerations of technical backbones for the group.

He was awarded the title of "craftsman of Guangzhong area”, “Top TenOutstanding Craftsmen” , “Outstanding Communist Party Member” in 2016, “ModelWorker” in 2017, and so on. While more and more honorary titles were given tohim, Xi himself thinks that he is only a small part of hundreds of thousands ofworkers in Shaanxi Automobile Group . Each of them dedicate themselves to the"Shaanxi Automobile Group spirit" in the pursuit of excellence.

Entering the steam milling class in his twenties, Xi as an indispensable partof Shaanxi Automobile Group has been witnessing its rapid development frommanual milling machine to CNC milling machine, from processing about 10elements per day to more than 200. "I will continue to stick to myposition, cultivate more technical talents, and use my actual actions to spreadgroup's spirit", which is Xi's simple and plain future planning.
