Shaanxi Launched 430 Key Promotion Projects with a Total Investment of 1.02 Trillion Yuan at the 3rd Silk Road International Expo

On the morning of May 15, the Results-releasing Conference of 3rd Silk Road International Expo was held. Xue Jianxing, deputy director of the Executive Committee of 3rd Silk Road International Expo and deputy secretary-general of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, informed various achievements of the Silk Road International Expo. The conference was presided over by Li Jianyi, deputy director and secretary-general of the Executive Committee of 3rd Silk Road International Expo and director of the Shaanxi Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center.

It is understood that Shaanxi Province has launched 430 key promotion projects, with a total investment of 1.02 trillion yuan at this Silk Road International Expo, mainly involving 9 categories such as agriculture, energy and chemicals, manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, and cultural tourism. A number of major projects such as the Geely New Energy Automobile Industrialization Project, the Grand Xi'an Underground Space Investment and Development Industry Fund Project, and the China Merchants Group Xi’an Port Strategic Cooperation Project were successfully signed, among which the investment of the Yaju Lefeng River International Dream Town project reached 40 billion yuan.

According to statistics, the Shaanxi Delegation of the Silk Road International Expo has signed a number of contracts of foreign capital-utilization project,with a total investment of 5.122 billion dollars, of which the foreign investment amounted to 4.708 billion dollars, an increase of 16.5%; signed various domestic joint project contracts, with a total investment of 1,404.521 billion yuan; The amount of contract for high-tech achievements was 519 million yuan. During the Silk Road International Expo, the intention amount of signing contracts with the UK was approximately RMB 1.215 billion, and the intention amount of signing trade contracts with Malaysia’s was approximately RMB 1.647 billion.

Guests from home and abroad gathered The activities of host country reached the peak compared with the previous years

According to reports, 52 political figures and 1,900 overseas guests from 75 countries and regions in Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Finland, Iran, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nepal, South Africa, and Singapore attended the meeting. During the meeting, 16 important meetings were arranged. The number, type, and field of activities of the host countries including the United Kingdom and Malaysia are reached the highest compared with the previous years. In addition, supporting activities such as culture, tourism, art, and food activities were also organized, with rich activity contents. The depth and breadth of cooperation between Shaanxi and the countries and regions  along the“Belt and Road” and domestic provinces, regions and cities have been continuously improved.

More than 40 forum activities involved over 20 fields and formed a lot of cooperation consensus.

Organized 40 activities such as the International Cooperation Forum of the Silk Road Economic Belt, the Joint Prevention and Control Conference on Cross-border Animal Diseases of the SCO Members, Silk Road Business Cooperation (Xi'an) Round-table Conference, the Sino-British Inter-regional Economic Cooperation Forum, and the 9th Global Qin Merchants Conferences and other international cooperation forums, exchange and development forums, business round-table meetings, project promotion conferences, investment fairs, as well as activities involving host countries, host provinces and cities, theme cities, etc., involving 20 fields and themed covering economy, culture, finance, and big data, law, education, women, cultural relics, archaeology, and diet.

Deploy venues scientifically, with 300,000 people participating in the conference

The Silk Road International Expo upheld the new concept of open and green office, broke the original principle of setting up piviloins according to regions and countries, set up venues scientifically including a cooperation and exchange hall, 4 industry halls, and 1 special product hall. More than 20 countries and 30 overseas companies from the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Spain, South Korea, Thailand, Nepal and Kazakhstan participated in the exhibition. A total of 2,600 booths were set up, and more than 2,000 exhibiting companies were invited to exhibit over 10,000 kinds of products. According to preliminary statistics, during the Silk Road International Expo, Xi'an Qujiang and Greenland Pavilion visited a total of 300,000 people, attracting more than 4,500 professional visitors to visit and negotiate.

Li Jianyi said that the successful conclusion of the Silk Road International Expo marked the beginning of preparations for another new Silk Road International Expo. The Executive Committee will, based on the experience of this Silk Road International Expo, plan early and deploy the preparatory work for the Silk Road International Expo of next year as early as possible. This Silk Road International Expo will play a new and greater role in actively promote the formation of a comprehensive and open new pattern of internal and external linkage and mutual aid between the eastern region and western region.  (Tong Zhou)
