The 3rd Silk Road International Expo was Opened in Xi’an 40 Meetings under 6 Categories were Held

On the morning of May 11, the 3rd Silk Road International Expo and the East-West China Cooperation and Investment Trade Fair (referred to as the 3rd Silk Road International Expo) was opened in Xi’an, Shaanxi. This Silk Road International Expo took the theme of “New Time, New Pattern, and New Development”. A total of 230 delegations from 73 countries and regions participated in the conferences and exhibitions. The UK and Malaysia served as host countries, Guizhou Province and Tianjin City hold the host provinces, and Yanan City was the theme city.

The reporter learned from the executive committee of the 3rd Silk Road International Expo that there were 40 conference activities under 6 categories involving government dialogue, corporate cooperation, non-governmental exchanges, and sister-city interactions, covering 20 areas such as economy, trade, humanities, investment, technology, and finance. During the conference period, activities concerning culture, tourism, art, food, and competitions would be held. And a cooperation and exchange platform would be established for countries and regions along the Silk Road to transform the interaction and cooperation between East and West China and international to the international cooperation with a broader perspective and more practical measures. In order to better reflect the theme of the conference, this conference has made new changes and breakthroughs from form to content, from the design of the forum to the setting of the pavilion.

This exhibition set up 1 cooperation and exchange pavilion, 4 industry pavilions, and 1 featured product pavilion, and adhered the idea of making the Silk Road International Expo a new platform for international cooperation. In terms of activity setting, the new thoughts, new ideas, and new strategies proposed by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China were fully reflected; In the aspect of exhibitions, the transition from comprehensive exhibition to internationalization, specialization, and branding was realized; in terms of exhibition services, initiatives were constantly innovated, the concept of a thrifty conference, honest conference, and green conference was vigorously promoted to establish the Silk Road International Expo as a thrifty, clean and green international expo.

During the conference, major forums, international conferences, and economic and trade cooperation activities would be held including the International Cooperation Forum on the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Joint Prevention and Control Cooperation Conference on Cross-border Animal Diseases of the SCO Member States. In terms of exhibitions, cross-border, cross-regional, cross-industry mixed exhibitions maximize economic and trade cooperation and exchanges, highlight aerospace, electronic information, intelligent manufacturing and other high-tech industries.  (Xin An )
